  2. hello Anirban,

Rupin pass is full of water and we could not make it due to heavy downpour last yesr.
In face we got struck in middle. Before going with any guide make sure you have the clause made up with him in case of natural calamities.
We went through one guy called Vishwa, though not reliable guy for beginner but handy for someone who is experienced.
He has done basic mountaineering but will not teach or guide people. It's up to you to talk with him looking for your skill set.

If you have not done Roopkund then you can try that too.. It's there in my blog. Roopkund is more adventurous.

    last but not the least.
    Here is Vishwas number 9945648287.

or you can contact these people directly in HP (Ratan & Mahipal). 9410859385 & 9410533616 .. These guys are qualified for Roopkund and will surely help you learn few things.

    regards
    Pravin

  3. Hi Praveen,

Thanks for such detailed information! Roopkund is in our list of priorities too. However, this time we have already made arrangements for Rupin, with tickets and everything confirmed. Can Ratan and Mahipal help for the Rupin pass trek too? In that case I'll contact them first. If not, then I might have to speak to Vishwa. What are their daily charge rate? Hopefully we'll get porters too from Rohru.

    Look forward to your reply.

    Best regards,
    Anirban

P.S. - Next year we might try Roopkund, or even further upto Ronty Saddle :)

  6. The Rupin Pass trek is like an edge-of-the-seat Hollywood thriller. So sudden are the changes in scenery that it makes you always walk a little further just to see if there is another surprise round the corner. What's intriguing is why many hikers don't do this trail. Yet, it is one of the best treks you will ever do in your life Anyone looking forward to adventurous vacation in INDIA? After an exhaustive on line research . I found this best package . Check it out.
